Mercer drops massive Opium EP   Print
Tuesday, 01 March 2016
Coming out with his very first EP, Mercer’s Opium will serve as the 7th product of Tchami's wildly successful imprint Confession, and might be one of the boldest releases to date. Mercer's distinctive brand of grimy 4 to the floor house has seen him release on Mad Decent, Spinnin' and more, however his raw, unapologetically gritty sound may have just found a perfect home in Tchami's Confession.

Premiered on Billboard and kicking off with an emphatic bang, the title track to Mercer's "Opium EP" is a relentless journey through French swerve house, hitting the listener with plummeting synths and heavy, distorted wobbles. Truly upping the ante and the energy level on this 2-track EP, Mercer’s “Drop It Low” collaboration with Mightyfools comes in with a heavy hand as it proves to be a high-octane main stage weapon as it dares listeners to experience Mercer’s method of madness. The Parisian mastermind fits in perfectly with Confession's innovative ideology – release quality underground music of all styles, to fans with open ears and impeccable taste.

The "Opium EP" highlights the versatility of both the label and producer, showcasing Mercer's aggressive flair while giving listeners a taste of future house's heavier side. It seems as though Tchami's label can do no wrong, as the French producer's EP marks yet another successful Confession release. Stay up to date with the label's socials below, and look out for new tracks soon!
