Jaimie started his carreer as a kid producing hip hop beats and rapping alongside the leaders of dutch hip hop like Extince, Skate the Great and Deams. At the age of 12 taking endless busrides to a small local studio paid with his small allowence, sampling beats and spitting lyrics like he had done nothing else and performing his act on stages throughout holland. It was already obvious at this young age that music was more than an addiction, it has become his life.
His eager character and hunger for adventure made him change routes to other scenes like hardcore house music, where he started out MCing for DJs like Darrien Kelly. After a period of rellentless partying, he picked up professional dancing in clubs throughout Germany, Belgium and Holland. Entertaining the crowds of the biggest clubs in Europe. And that’s when it all came to place..
How would he be able to combine his entertainer skills with his love for music? First of all to start producing house music: Techno! Under his pseudo “Sir Jamez” he placed his first footsteps in the professional house industry of today. Starting as the resident DJ of EFT (Techno boat parties behind the CS of Amsterdam) he played alongside DJs like Dave Clarke, Darren Price, Johannes Heil, Billy Nasty and more. Releasing his first EP “Sir Jamez – Wanna Dance” on ID-T’s techno label “Shockers”. Combining his hip hop roots with techno by using samles from Grand Master Flash and Melle Mell: We wanna hear you dance, we wanna hear you shout.. This EP was picked up by Ken Ishii and pointed out by him as the second best release for him in the year 2001. This EP was produced using nothing more than a Yamaha SU700 sampler and a Yamaha RM1x groovebox, NO sequencer! All sequences were made by hand!
A friendship with the legendary DJ Misjah had brought him across the world through DJ Misjah’s bookings agency “RERUN”. Spinning in New York, Malaysia, Hungary, Malta, Belgium and more developing his own unique style of Djing to be recoqnized by his swiftness in mixing and DJ tricks. Always using 3 decks and techno music that had at least something sounding like hip hop. DJ’s alongside Jaimie playing mainact were: Frankie Knuckles, Dave Angel, Dave Clarke, Richie Hawtin and many more. Together with DJ Misjah he also released a little techno hit called “ The Amateur, The Professional and the Professor”, released again on ID-T’s techno label Shockers.
After a few years of travelling the world as a techno DJ, the love for hip hop music started demanding more of his attention. So he decided to change his name to Jaimie Fanatic and to start producing and spinning house.
